HS50 lost its magic in macro!

Everything is great in HS50 except for one.... called Macro.

Since HS10, HS has been the king in macro capability using the tele-macro trick i.e 150mm 3 inches away. That is consistent up to HS30 but now it is gone and the only way to get maximum magnification out of HS50 is to utilize its super macro mode.

Below is a comparison I have made to show the difference between an HS50 with Canon 500D, 200mm telemacro and 4.4mm super macro. Based on my testing, 200mm seems to be the sweet spot now at about 12 inches away. Good enough not to scare away insects.

Now I am just waiting for insects to pop-out so I can show some macrolicious shot from HS50.
