Been there and done that with the G1, try an Olympus E-510 for severe and sudden clipping, like falling off a cliff! (But when you nailed it very nice images). Any camera has its compromises, I'll keep any eye out for shadow noise and banding, as long as I know where it'll happen I can work around it.
