I have the D800 and the Nikkor 24-70 and it is a wonderful combo in every single sense.

No AF issues nor any other that I have found until now and every time you get a look at the pictures they are something else, simply outstanding...

You could not go wrong with this combo and the other Nikkor professional lenses.

what do you think of some of the criticisms posted here? thnx for ur response.

There are a lot of people with AF issues. A lot. Don't believe the fanboys.  Most of them haven't even seen a D800. My D800 doesn't have the left AF issue but does have inconsistent focus and poor tracking issues.  My D4 does not.  Corresponded with a fellow on Craigslist yesterday about the D800 he was selling. Once he realized I was only interested in what kind of offers he was getting, he told me how he was so frustrated with the camera - too many out of focus shots.  I talked to a pro who had sold his 800e to buy the second D4. Problem - camera wouldn't track in focus.  There may be lots of good ones but there are lots of bad ones. Lots too many.  I looked at the pro's website and the gallery on his website.  A photographer that most of us could only dream of being as good as.
