I like the camera

This unit is good for:

-people who like tilting screens

-very fast focus and continuous shooting

-specific art filters (with HDR together)

-lovely user interface with two customiced wheels and buttons on a P&S

-gadges like selftimer activated by waving your hand

It is not so good for

-resolution freaks

-low light with movements

-SDCards bigger than 8 GB (it slows the start up sequence)

The Casio ZR1000 is surprisingly complex. You need to dive in the camera and understand the designgoals to realy use it. Pixel peeper will hat it because it is far from realy using the 16 MP. I reduced it to 10 MP.

You can customice a lot of the cameras behaviour and also the presets like artfilter.

On dule days the artfilter HDR with the setting EX 1 can berealy surprising (a little like dramatic tone on Oly cams)

The IQ is somewere around or slightliy below average but if you are willing to use the triks there is a lot to gain

Manual is 200 pages and it needs to be read (partialy)

Finally for some it can be a nice companion
