Well, since I just got my 85mm f/1.4g this week, I hope you're right. I know I'll enjoy it, anyway.

But I know that, among all the things that make for a great portrait, including lens, camera, subject, posing, lighting, setting, and interaction between subject and photographer, the camera and lens are probably not in the top three. All I've done by getting my D800 and 85mm f/1.4g is to take away two of the excuses I could have used; now I'll have to start  working on improving on all those other things
