Portrait NX 45mm 1.8 V.S. NX 30mm V.S. Minolta 50mm

here comes my portrait-dummy. first three all lenses at f2

30mm f2 NX @ f2

45mm f1.8 @ f2

the minolta is still bleeding at f2, the new NX lenses aren't. At f2.8 the bleeding is stoping and the picture is getting crisp. so f2.8 is my minolta 50mm most wanted aperture - sweetspot is more like f5.6 but I need the light.

here 50mm vs 45mm at f2.8, this time both at iso800 1/30

NX 45mm f1.8 @ f2.8

the 45mm seems to catch a bit more light at 2.8. the minolta has more center-sharpness.

for 1/4 of the price you miss AF and get a much heavier lens. which is crispy in the center starting from f2.8 and softer than the 30/45NX in the edges and at wide.

and you get a lot of fun - that's how I see it

(if you look at my old review , you see that the legacys are better than the 30mm at f2.8, before that the 30mm is superior. the samyang beats them all at wide)

end of the line: I guess the 45mm indeed is a great lens, its value@price is good, it's LIGHT, small and sharp. get it if you need a standard-portrait with AF and have the money.

But I still think the 30mm can do a lot the 45mm can and more (like indoor, group shots, landscape). And the NEX+35mm wins against the NX+45mm.
