Best Manual Zeiss Lens adapted to NEX-5r

So I have been thinking of getting a 24/28mm or 35mm prime lens, and I don't want to spend the $1000 on the 24m Zeiss e-mount.

Here are some questions I am looking to answer:

What manual Zeiss lenses are available to adapt to the NEX that are known for their superb image quality for less than $500?

Since I am looking in the $300 - $500 price range what are the advantages over the SEL 35m 1.8 or the Sigma combo deal (19mm and 30mm for $200). Is it mostly edge to edge sharpness?

Is the difference only worthwhile at the higher resolution of the NEX-7 (I plan on getting the new one when it comes out)?

Finally, would a manual Zeiss in 28mm or 35mm be leaps and bounds above the sharp Minolta MD lenses?

I would appreciate any feedback you can give.
