A mirrorfull camera in the mirrorless weight class

Canon just announced the SL1 or 100D.

Is it size wise comparable to an NX20?  If you look at it in a certain way, it is very comparable.

100D (407g) + 18-55mm II (200g) + 55-200mm (310g) = 917g

NX20 (341g) + 18-55mm (198g) +  50-200mm (417g) = 955g

That's right folks, a dual lens 100D kit is lighter than a dual lens NX20 kit, with 20 shots more battery life.

In this context it makes sense to mention that there are other differences, of course such as viewfinder/touchscreen/AF differences.

For example, the eye-level viewfinder on the NX20 has larger magnification and can see in the dark.  But the 100D's eye level viewfinder is optical and therefore has instantaneous response with near-perfect colour/contrast.

I never miss an opportunity to poke fun at the 50-200mm from Samsung. A lovely lens with wonderful optical performance for the price, it is however too heavy, literally bloated by a weight equivalent to a DSLR mirror/prism component.  Being front-heavy is not an advantage.
