5D3 will autofocus to f8 with firmware upgrade

The 1DIV also focuses at f/8, something the 5DIII can't do. The 1DIV can have problems with AF in low light and would be noisier than the 5DIII at higher ISOs. I'm thinking the 1DIV is good value at the same price of a 5DIII but may not hold its resale value for long, depending on what new products fill the void of a pro crop body. The best value would be a lightly used 1DIV which you use extensively since depreciation happens rather quickly, much like automobiles.

Canon a few months ago announced that a firmware upgrade for the 5D3 due in April will allow it to focus up to maximum apertures of f8.  They announced that at the same time as the revision for the 1Dx but they released the firmware for the 1Dx first.

It works great in the 1Dx, giving you the center point and the 4 surrounding assist points at f8, compared to the earlier 1-series bodies that gave you center point a/f only at f8.
