Re: post processing and editing software

What would you recommend for post processing and editing software for a beginner?

I don't really have experience with anything other than Premiere Elements and Pro. Actually I did try Windows Movie Maker at one point.

Perhaps someone with experience using a very simple editing package can chime in...

Forget those two, use this one (it is free, too):

Lightworks NLE Download

Thanks Sean and Francis! Actually, Lightworks NLE looks awesome! (I admit, I was swayed by the free part of it, haha, in addition to the features.) It looks like a great way to get my feet wet, and I know I'm learning something useful since it looks like a lot of film and video people use it. The tutorials and user support forum look great too.

I remember trying some photo post processing programs which basically had zero support and inscrutable tutorials. That's just not a way to learn this stuff.
