What sort of film is it? How was the film stored over the years? Best is if it was sealed air tight and stored in freezer (dark and cold). Anyhow I think the packing and longevity of the 90's film will be better than the 60's film of the link. Somewhere on this site ( I think, do a search) there was a report of someone using 15 year out of date Ilford HP5 and it came out good.  Assuming b/w, shooting at half to a full stop more may be necessary. Color negative and slide film and will be more problematical (color shifts and so on).
