Neutral Clear Protection Filter

Depends on what you protect against ..

There have been several posts on the forums where people said and showed how the broken glass from the filter can in fact do more damage to the lens than protect it. Also it adds what does not need to be in front of the lens to begin with. The only scenario where you might need a filter (and I can think of) is when you are somewhere on the boat with salty water particles in the air. Or any other similar environments. It is easier to wash filter (better be good) then the lens, of course. Else, just forget about it.
