I use a Neutral-Totally-Black-Protection filter, called a 'lens cap'.   Also use a hood.

I don't believe in 'protective filters'.   The best ones will only impact IQ a little bit negatively, under most circumstances.   The worst ones will make a nice lens give results worse than a kit lens.   And for what?    Put a hood on, and it will actually improve the IQ at best, with zero negative consequences at worst.   Use a lens cap when not shooting.  Done.
