Without the LCD saves space, cost and battery. Hot shoe for flash or top mounted viewfinder. Auto focus but manual focus via zoom style ring around shutter release. IBIS. 35mm equiv field of view. Metal body. $500. Weather sealed? Pocketable powerhouse! What do you think?

most attractive: pocketability, weather sealing, probably the battery life too.

least attractive: no LCD, fixed lens, no zoom, no wider angle of view.

Sort of like a pocketable, weather-sealed and fixed-lens Canon G1X, is what you're essentially proposing. At less than $300, it would be far more enticing; there's far too much camera competition for it to be a smashing success; at best it will get a niche following but that's all it may need, and the pocketability and carefree weather sealing with a larger sensor and presumably good lens would always be welcome. An LCD is an absolute necessity these days, to play back images and share with those around us, and delete on-the-fly. It's part of the digital experience. I predict failure without one
