Re: Trip to Venice-lenses

I was there last year (April) with a Sigma 10-20 and Nikons 16-85, 35/1.8 and 55-200VR.  The 16-85 was the work horse and frankly I could have got away with taking it alone. I never used the 55-200, I used the 10-20 a few times and the 35 for indoor shots.  On that basis, and assuming you do not plan to buy anything for the trip, I would take the 35-70 as the main lens and the 18-55 to give you wider shots.  Alternatively, why not consider a second hand Nikon 18-35, Nikon 12-24 or Sigma 10-20?

Tips? Climb to the top of the Campanile in St Marks Square, take the boat to Murano to see the glass blowing and despite the expense take a gondola. We renegotiated both the price and set route and the gondolier was very flexible and as a result we had a great afternoon.

Hope that helps.  My Venice gallery is in the signature block. Have a good trip.
