This is a nice composition, too; but all the mystery is gone ...

It does not even come barely close to the original.

Not only all the mystery is gone, but also the context of time and place.

We need to see that this rock is in a vast lonely desert.

And we need to know that it is twilight or it looks underexposed.

This alternative crop is VERY bad (IMHO of course)
