Good review.  I also picked the X-E1 over all other mirrorless cameras too. I started in film with a Kodak Retina  in 1962, how's that for all manual.

I agree with your evaluation so far. Been trying different settings i.e. P, A, M and all the bracketing choices etc and pretty much settled on A to start and then switch as needed. The basic Provia suits my wife as she is the colorist and I am red/green challenged. Still get good photos thanks to post in LR. I personally like Velvia.

I'm still attached to RAW although the image quality of the JPG is very  good. It's like a security blanket.

Have fun trying all the dials and buttons.
