Very sharp.  Pity about the banding, though.  It can be clearly seen at +2EV on a monitor with an 8 stop contrast ratio.  Just knowing it's there would bug me to no end.  BIG faux pas unless fixed, imho...

If it's that observable at levels far above what renato has quantified, or at higher isos where these cameras will be often pushed, it won't be a lurking but irrelevant annoyance, but another prod by Nikon, intentional or not, to grab a seat on the FX bus, on the D600 line...
