Olympus C-21 review
Very good point and shoot light wieght camera. I have taken about 5000 shots and the results are pretty good. I very rarely get a bad picture and some are excellent.
Problems encountered are:
Battery hatch design is weak. The location lugs break. My solution is to use a rubber band (mountain bike inner tube cut into a ring) placed over trhe end of the camera to keep the hatch closed. Not very elegant.
Battery life is poor and I am constantly changing batteries and always carry some spare - defeats the point of a compact camera.
The standard 8MB Flash card is a joke. Get a bigger one now that they are pretty cheap.
Serial interface is unnaceptable. I use a Flash card reader with USB linked to a PC running XP. Works far better that the Olympus SW.OPeration of the functions is fiddly and could be much better. I believe this camera is discontinued so value depends on what deal you can get.
The lens cover sometimes is not completely open yet the camera will take a picture with the lens partially obscured.
