Sigma SD9 review

At the end of five months, it is time to reflect on this fine camera.

Frankly, I have not had any major issues since I got it. Everything has worked well, the match to the lenses is exceptional, and overall build quality is terrific.

You buy this camera for the images. Here, the 10 rating is missing in this little review. Each time I open a RAW file in the conversion software, I am amazed at what comes up. I have taken so many great pictures that I don't know what to do with them. Were I to print them, I would go broke; placing them into the Internet will supply someone with some great work. That the camera can produce outstanding images in my hands and in those of others can be seen here:

Problems:

Those considering this purchase should recognize that there is a learning curve involved, which is not altogether a bad thing. The software is outstanding to start with and gets better through experience, for example. Metering must be done with slides in mind.

Potential buyers should be purchase a firewire card reader and, if necessary, a firewire card for their computers. USB is too slow.
