Samsung Digimax 430 review
Pros: Very cheap! Accepts SD/MMC or Memory Stick Duo
Cons: Noisy images. Even more so in anything less than ideal lighting conditions. (READ: NOISE!!!!) Images from my 5 year old Fujifilm MX1500, 1.5megapix camera are crystal clear and sharp compared to the Digimax 430's in every condition/resolution/ISOspeed.
Movable parts such as battery/media cover and usb port cover and flimsy. Packaged software below par.
Zoom is not smooth.
Major flaw is the Digimax 430's insatiable hunger for juice! I used different pairs of NiMH rechargeable AAs of 1550mah to 1800mah capacity. They were all drained in under 50 shots plus one or two short avi video clips.
You get what you pay for with this camera. OK for those who want all the features this camera has to offer but cannot afford anything else. My advice though, buy a discontinued 2 or 3 megapixel made by Canon, Fujifilm, Olympus or Nikon camera to find real value.
