Minolta DiMAGE F200 review
Great little camera - BUT! The F200 can now be purchased for a very reasonable sum, it is now discontinued but 4 meg is considered by the aficionado as best suited for tiny ccds as anything above this leads to the dreaded NOISE and FRINGING etc.
The Handling and layout is OK and build quality is excellent.
The picture quality is also excellent especially the colour balance even in auto mode - a pity I can't say the same for my SLR CANON!
Great little camera BUT for two weaknesses - Battery-life is awful even when using extra-high mAhs.
When Macro is selected, the camera zooms the lens to full extension and can not be altered, I wonder why? It means that close-ups are impossible, at least I can't find out how.
PS: I have tried using this model with the LCD switched OFF while shooting and the battery life is excellent (using 2300 mAh NIMH types) The optical V/F is naturally not as accurate as the LCD but this is easily allowed for in shooting. Even more highly recommended now.
