Pentax EI-200 review
I recommended the purchase of three of these for my office about two to
three years ago, right as they had been discontinued. We paid $400 each. All
three get heavy use by as many as 20 different people. They have been
dropped, abused and misused. Most of the users are amateurs. Out of the
three, one had to be sent back for service after it was dropped. For a small
fee, Pentax fixed it up, sent it back and all was well. All three are still in service
and work flawlessly.
The image quality is fine, considering the age and 2.1 mp sensor. Not up to
today's best, but considering the age...
The reason I am posting on such an old camera is to basically say that if these
three have survived my office, they are true workhorses. Some of the best
$1200 we ever spent.
We also have Nikon SLRs, but these were for sales folks and "inexperienced"
users. We have all found the EI 200 to be a good value. We have individually
bought other Pentax models based on this experience.
Battery cover came off one, we replaced. Otherwise: none.
