Pentax Optio 33L review

Just bought one for my son for his school trip abroad. The camera was on a special at warehouseexpress at £79 so did a bit of research and decided to go for it!! Got to admit the driving factors were manufacturer, compact flash (got lots of it) and AA batteries, I use 2000/2300 Nickel hidrides. Great focus, colours a bit flat but well balanced and Idiot proof. Tremendous flexibility with swiveling LCD and great value. The flash new models are seductive but many a good tune has been played on an old instrument. Construction is plastic, but looks durable.
Difficult to fault picture and focus, I have some favourite plants in a local wintergarden, the camera gave some of the best images I have seen of Wattle blooms, great macro shots with good depth of field around subject.
Highly reccomended as a still camera, video limited and no sound. Very pocketable and a great bargain.

None so far.
