Sigma SD10 review

1) Best infrared digital camera so far with the dust protector removed.
2) Dirty cheap now in Europe, aroud 500 euros for the kit.
3) A ture SLR with resolution comparable to a 5~6MP ones.
4) ture pixel count with smaller JPG file size than 5~6MP, 100% size viewable, do not need to adjust for sharpness, just use the native pixel sharpness.
5) Solid-built.

Problems:

1) Noise, only usable in daylight without flash. Due to color contamination, 3 color components are not differentiated properly when shutter speed is slower than 1/2s. So hue shifts which are uncorrectable in SPP.

2) For high ISO, like slow shutter speed, hue shifts which are uncorrectable in SPP.
3) No small built-in flash.
4) Too big and heavy, should remove the battery tray and use Lithium in the handle part.
5) LCD is not light-lit.
6) Silly shutter speed dial, should be removed and trasfer the funtion to the dial around the shutter release.
7) LCD protector covers the buttons, which are not usable when put on the protector, foolish design.
8) Mirror-Lockup not usable when combined with the timer. only possilble with the expensive remote controller which must be bought seperately.
9) Dust, found dusts on the sensor from day one, unremovable following the instructions.
10) Bad for NiMH battery. Totally unusable, need reinserting the battery tray after each shot, how silly this is. Why not include the RCR-V3 batteries in the kit? The sigma battery kit is sold seperately and costs around 90 euros!!!!
11) SPP cannot display image 100%, only magnifying it
12) Dynamic range is not good, worse than CCD. After exposure and fill-light correction, noise may surface.
