I have a studio and I shoot weddings, product and models. I used film camera for couple of years and 4 months ago I switched to digital.
Sigma SD10 is easy to use, not too many menus, easy acces to functions directly on buttons. Viewfinder is acceptable, autofocus in good light is accurate and fast. Not as fast as Canon's autofocus, but I would say more accurate. In low light, autofocus is not so fast and sometimes the lens hunting a bit befor locking.
For studio work, this camera is a marvel. ISO 100 deliver such great pictures with excellent sharpness and pleasant colours. Prints up to 50cm are crystal clear.
For weddings, probably is not the best camera. I can't use ISO 800 and 400 for prints larger than 30cm because of noise. The noise appears in patches, some kind of blotchiness, hard to remove with Noise Ninja or Neat Image. Beware that this is happen in low light (church, dance floor). If the ambient light is enough and well distributed (like outside in the dawn or in twilight), then ISO 400 or 800 is quite usable. I have to shot in church or on dance floor with ISO 200 and I use two or three strobes.
I think this could be one of the best cameras for landscape. The dynamic range is impressive and Sigma Pro Photo software is very easy to use and makes wonders with X3 Fill Light.
However, I shooted more than 5.000 photos in 4 months and I would say that you'll never discover the whole potential of this camera from first shots.
Some people could complain about batteries. I use Hahnel NiMH 2300mAh, 1.25V. I can shoot more than 300 images with four of these and 2 sec. preview function, autofocus and looking from time to time on pictures on LCD display.
Some people could complain about size of the camera. I think it looks like a serious camera, not like a toy. I had many 12 hours sessions and I never felt my hand tired.
Some people could complain about SA mount, but I think Sigma provide good lenses for all purposes. More than this, I use a ring and M42 lenses for studio work. I was amazed by the quality and sharpness delivered by Super Takumar or Helios lenses (manual focus, of course).
Problems:
Not very good camera for real night photography with long exposures. I never obtained a good result over 8 sec. exposure.
Not the best camera in low light or high ISO.
Problems with autofocus in low light.
Problems with skin tones in underexposure, know as "yellow skin tones problem" (can be corrected in photoshop).
I wished that lock mirror and 2 sec. self timer can be combined without buying remote control.
