Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D (Dynax 5D) review

Although it is plastic this camera has a good, solid feel to it and the rubberised grip slots very comfortably into the hand. The controls are very intuitive (I had no problem altering the ISO setting in almost total darkess when shooting long exposures at night) Images are sharp, clear and with good natural colours. I am delighted with the results from this camera. The anti-shake works very well and is at least as effective as the expensive lens-based systems used by Canon. Compatibility with older Dynax/Maxxum lenses is a major plus too. For the price, this has to be the best value prosumer DSLR on the market by far.

Problems:

The bundled "Dimage Master Light" software is painfully slow at times (on a P4 2.5Ghz with 512MB RAM) and has no option for batch processing. These and other options are available in the "full" version, which unfortunately costs around a third of the price of the camera!
