Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D (Dynax 5D) review

First time SLR buyer moving from Prosumer Minolta(DiMAGE Z1). I loved that camera so when I heard about their new entry level DSLR offering I am immediately interested. I have considered Evolt E300, Rebel 350D and Nikon D50. While the Oly and Canon's 8 MP seems tempting, the noise issue of the Oly turned me away and the cheap feeling of the Canon(important when you are spending the $ for a SLR) Ruled it out as well. While Nikon seem attractive the AS and the idea of having practically all the KM AF lens ever made available to you have me sold(even if KM has a smaller share of the market).

Strong Points:
-Fast Continuous AF
-Depth of Field Preview
-AS
-LCD information
-Works with old Minolta Lens(got a 70-210f4, great lens)
-Solid Feel
-Good Battery Life and fast charger

Problems:

Weak Point:
-comparable LCD image quality to competitor, but not a good pic reference.
-Kit Lens Sharpness questionable
-no external LCD cover.
