Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z3 review

Good camera overall with a few flaws. I purchased the camera in November 2004, seeking an optical zoom of 10+. I use it frequently to photograph my grandsons' sports events and took the camera to Kenya with me for a Safari for amazingly close up pictures of the animals. The long zoom and image stabilization are excellent in bright light or daylight.

Problems:

My camera is currently being repaired under warranty because auto-focus frequently does not work - seems to freeze up. The camera must be reset by removing the batteries to "reboot" the auto-focus. I find the camera lacking in two other areas: 1) The low-light sensitivity it very poor in this camera compared to the Olympus C-700 and C-765 (both long zoom cameras, without IS), and 2) The date resets each time the batteries are changed, a major bother (maybe there is a trick I haven't found).
