Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D (Alpha-7 Digital / Dynax 7D) review

An update on the two problems I mentioned on Oct 31, 05.

1. Mirror stuck half way up when shooting.

This happened on frame 39. Called Minolta USA. They tell me that it's not supposed to happen. If happens again, they suggest that I send it in for check/repair.

I have since shot over a thousand frames. I am pleased to report that this have not happened a second time.

2. Unable to find Minolta 70-210mm/f2.8 lens on market.
I found one at Keebles & Schuchart in Palto Alto, California. I did some testing shot with the Minolta representative on site. Photos turned out great.

Meanwhile, B&H Photo informed me that they have new arrivals as I was on the waiting list. I bought one from then at $1799 as noted by jenningsmca on Dec 16, 05 (thanks). This lens is rated the top one in the 70-210mm/f2.8 category in many reviews. It works with my 7D seamlessly.

Problems:

Most shots using the 5600HS flash are under exposed by at least 1 stop, as noted by Alan Browne on Dec 16, 05.
I have to use flash compensation +0.3 or more.
