Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D (Alpha-7 Digital / Dynax 7D) review

An item of caution, relating to flash and non "D" lenses. Both Minolta and third-party manufacturers (Sigma, Tamron, Tokina, i.e.) designate only some of their lenses as "D" lenses. Those which are not, are not fully compatible with cameras like the Minolta 5D and 7D, which have ADI (unless you go manual). Otherwise, you'll be fine with available light, but not flash.

While it is good that so many features are accessible by way of buttons and switches, I do not like the menu system as much as, say, Pentax ist D.

The lcd, while larger, does not have enough additional pixels to render a sharp image - it's almost sharp enough to tell whether or not you have a sharp picture. But it's certainly better than the 5D's, which leaves you totally clueless in that regard.

I like that it has strap eyelets, rather than slots. Looks more professional, and allows more flexibility.

Nice apearance, and feels better in your hand and to operate than Digital Rebel.
