Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D (Alpha-7 Digital / Dynax 7D) review

I came to buy the KM 7d after spending many hours taking sample shots at the local camera shop. I tested just about every camera in the ~$1000 range. Although preferrenced by using the KM platform in the past I tried to remain as objective as I could. The Cannon 350/rebel xt was too small to handle and had excessive softening of edge detail although best 8MP sensor and start up time. The Nikon D50 and D70s were great all round cameras but had less 'pro' fetures. The KM 7D had an abundance of 'pro' fetures plus the built in anti-shake (wow). Also the veiwfinder is brighter then the others and it has a large LCD (so-so on resulution though). These fetures plus the fact that I have a couple grand's worth of maxxum lenses made it an easy choice. Wish it were 8MP though.

Problems:

- About the worst software out there, Why did KM even bother writing it!
- AF system sometimes hunts a bit
- A not very advertized fact that all of the lenses are NOT fully compatible. Some powerzoom models only allow center AF point selection.
