Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D (Alpha-7 Digital / Dynax 7D) review

Great camera. After a few thousand frames I can say that it meets my digital needs. I still prefer film for 'serious' work, but the 7D allows more experimentation and quick feedback.

I have sumarized what I like and dislike about the 7D here:
http://www.aliasimages.com/Max7Drev.htm and I've done and anti shake test here:
http://www.aliasimages.com/KM7D_AS_Test.htm

Reccomend it? Certainly to those with an investment in Minolta lenses. I'm not sure if K-M will stay for the long run, however.

Problems:

1. 5600HS integratiion is poorly done with a 1.7 stop underexposure. RAW recovers most of the image.
2. With the right-angle finder mounted, the display goes off. So w/o the little LCD dipslay available it's a pain.
3. Hate the knob locks. The Maxxum 9 has it right.
4. Stupid camera refocuses when you turn it on, looking for lens infinity point. This is for the A-S. If A-S is off, then it shouldn't do this.
5. Shutter lag is a bit on the long side v. the Maxxum 9 and other SLR's. Harder to shoot action. (Manual focus, manual exposure too).
