Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 review
A Fantastic camera,I have obtained stunning shots with this camera, and have been at many events where the tiltable rear view LCD have enabled me to get shots i could no way have obtained with a DSLR.Shoot in Raw and you will be stunned evenmore,as close as you will get to DSLR Quality without the hassle & Bulk.Movie mode is great, like carrying a camcorder with you as well! Not quite big enough to be recognised as a pro camera,so at events where the larger pro cameras get whittled out,and camcorders are banned, you can have both with the A2.Build Quality to me is great, some people moan about the plastic covers on some of the camera, but the camera chassis is magnesium, with a couple of plastic covers, the same as my A1,and never had any troubles at all.The lens is long enough, without becoming slow. some of todays superzooms, are to put it frankly unuseable, without high isos + Noise.
Problems:
I cant call this a problem but a characteristic of the A2,its not the best at indoor shots under poor lighting.cranking up the iso results in noise,I know some other people have mentioned this on the forums. Now with a DSLR most people buy an external Flash, they dont with digis and blame the sensors etc,the A2 has a hot shoe and this problem is obliterated by purchasing either the 3600hs or the 5600hs(D).I would stretch for the 5600,I have one and when you learn to use it,its capable of enabling outstanding indoor shots.Itsthe MOST important accessory purchase.Im not saying the built in flash is no good,it just has its limitations as do they all.
