Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z6 review

This is my third digital camera. The first two were absolute P&S with very little manual control.

I was skeptical of trying this camera, as I truly had my heart set on the Canon S2 IS, but I decided to give it a shot, based on the opinion of a friend.

I can now say (after several weeks and hundreds of pictures) that I am quite satisfied with this camera. It takes very nice pictures and the anti-shake works well. Even with just a couple of regular lamps on in my living room, I can get good clear shots of my dogs with no flash.

In good light, the continuous shooting mode works well for action shots.

Super macro mode produces nice detailed images as well.

I find the menus very easy to navigate, and the control buttons are fairly simple as well. For me as an amateur (but not a complete beginner) photographer, it has given me exactly what I wanted - more control without the huge price tag of the DSLR.

Problems:

I feel that the door to the memory card could be closed more securely.

Auto focus does tend to have to hunt a bit in very low light.

Typical of other cameras of this class (as I understand) it is a bit noisy at higher ISO.
