Konica Minolta DiMAGE A2 review
Warning: Don't buy any Konica Minolta
The only thing that works well is the anti-shake function: the pictures are less blurred using zoom conditions with anti shake turned on.
Problems:
I will definitely warn everyone about this camera. First the autofocus doesnt work properly, sometimes good sometimes the pictures are just awefully out of focus. In low light it is totally terrible, no AF assist light, so if its just a bit too dark, like on a party, you can forget about taking pictures of your friends. I had one party and all pictures were blurred out of focus and useless, I felt ashamed with such an expensive camera. I have tried other autofocus settings, like flex point etc, but none solve the real issues, although worst is the default matrix point. The problem with this camera is that if all the conditions are right, AND the settings are right it is able to make a nice shot. But forget about a quick snap. And forget about focusing indoor low light. Forget about manual focus in low light too, because you can't see whether it's focused. So if you ever want to take a picture indoor at a party or outdoor at night, guaranteed out of focus useless photos.
As someone else noted, when you make a movie, the result is a movie that is constantly in and out of focus, makes you nauseous, seriously, this is a joke! I had a 5 year old fuji4 700 that was so much better!
Another big problem was that the files seem to have exif incompatibilities, it would not go through my router or load into adobe acrobat. After removing the exif meta headers with exif farm it would work, but that is crazy. I called Minolta, but they have a very strict policy, if you can get the files on the computer, then the rest is your problem. Forget about returning the camera too (Tristate). don't ever buy from Tristate, they are criminals.
Anyways, i'm very disappointed and will never buy a konica minolta again. I just purchased a canon s80, hope it will be better.
