Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D (Dynax 5D) review

This camera has exceeded my expectations. It is much like my XD-11 which remains my favorite 35mm. I have many 35mm cameras including a Canon A-1 and Minolta SI 600. The 5d accepts all my Maxxum lenses including the Tamron 28-200. The camera fits like a glove with all controls at the ready. Color is very good and playback is good enough. Like the XD-11 it has all the controls to allow for just quick shots or be a creative as I want to be. A beginner will be able to shoot right away and allow the budding photographer to grow. The price was right.

Problems:

Getting the card door to close is harder then it needed to be. Was saddened to see that Konica-Minolta will no longer make cameras. They have made some great cameras the XD-11 mentioned and now the 5d. They never did know how to market nor seem aware of how to relate to the world beyond the company. Still for those in the market for a camera to grow as a photographer with, the 5d is a good choice.
