Canon EOS 10D review

I've owned by EOS 10D for nearly a year now and continue to be impressed. Digital
SLRs come and go, but for me the 10D is here to stay. I believe it's a landmark
camera in terms of image quality, build quality and feature sets. I feel fortunate to
own a DLSR camera that has proven to be 100% reliable and so capable of
rendering beautiful photographs.

I don't think that the 20D was as substantial an improvement as some have said or
reviewed, nor do I think the 20D "handles" as well as the 10D.

With my 10D I routinely print as large as 13" X 19" and sometimes larger with no
problems whatsoever. With top-quality Canon L glass, I get resolution, sharpness
and detail that is very, very close to film and sometimes exactly like film.

I've considered on occasion "upgrading" to a 1D Mark II or even a 5D. I have
considered a used 1Ds as well. But, upon reflection, I realize that the gains will be
smaller than the cost justifies and, in the end, hardly noticeable to people viewing
my prints. That's how GOOD the 10D really is.

I purchased mine refurbished from Adorama. They are still available refurbished
and are certainly available used on ebay and elsewhere. I would opt for a factory
refurbished model over a used one. Canon's refurbishing procedures are very
thorough. You are assured of a camera that's been gone over in every respect and
can be trusted to be as good as new or even better than new.

The 10D is a great, classic camera.

Problems:

None.
