Nikon Coolpix P4 review

At first I was a little bit disappointed about the image quality -images looked very soft- but after about 500 shots I get more and more satisfied.
The in-camera sharpening is a little bit soft, the contrast is very high. So I fixed the sharpening at high and the contrast at -1 to get good results, but images won't become crunchy, even at highest sharpening setting.
Saturation should be normal to avoid extremely strong green.
When I started to work with this camera I got many blured images because I shaked the camera by pressing the shutter release. VR could not prevent this effect.
Otherwise VR is a useful feature, but don't expect too much.
Images are rather slightly underexposed.
It is NOT possible to form an opinion about an image using the camera display. Display looks much too bright.
Automatic white balance works very well.
Indoor image quality, especially skin tones, is excellent.
The autofocus works pretty well too. Even at low light. The AF-assisting lamp is nearly not needed.
The camera works quite fast. The start up time and the shot-to-shot time are about 2 sec. Surely not the fastest but more than a world faster than my old one.

Next time I would chose the P3 with wifi, becaue its much more comfortable and free of mechanical wear.
