Konica Minolta Maxxum 5D (Dynax 5D) review

I have owned this camera for 6 months. I also own a Minolta Dynax 505si 35mm film camera and have a number of lenses, a 2x tele-converto and a Sunpak flash unit for the 35mm camera.

My previous digital camera was a fuji, which developed problems with its display. I decideed to buy a 5D to utilise my accessories and have not been disappointed.

My Minolta 75-300mm lens (112-450 on the digital body) has worked very well on the 5D and enabled me to capture some great shots. The 2x convertor works well, but is best used with manual focus (as it should be on the 35mm camera.) Despite comments read on this site, I have not had any issues with the image quality of the kit lens supplied with the camera.

A brilliant camera for anyone wanting to retain their existing Minolta lenses and accessories. As an added bonus, all the lenses for the new Sony Alpha DSLR will also fit, as they use the Minolta mount and electrics.

Problems:

None so far in approx 2500 pictures.
