Olympus C-765 UZ review
Have this camera for more than a year, and took more than 15.000 photos with it.
I'm really satisfied with the image quality. 90% of the time I shoot in P mode, ISO64, with -0.3 to -0.7 exposure compensation. In bright sunshine a circular-polarizing filter can help to increase details captured in shadows. Sometimes the Auto WB won't choose the best settings (for ex. in forrest), but it's easy to change and if the preset modes don't work, you always have the option to take a sample from a white object.
Big zoom is great. Though wide end could be wider. Excellent macro.
It has more plastic than the C-770, but still feels solid. I was a bit worried about the plastic tripod mount, but until now survived.
My biggest complaint is the start-up time: ~7 sec. You can leave in stand-by mode, but then the lens won't retract, and eats the battery much faster.
There are a few minor issues/ wishes:
-in low light, zoomed out faster focusing wouldn't hurt
-no image stabilizer ( take a series of shots )
-no remote control ( for extra price you have on C 770 )
-no external flash connector ( C 770 )
-xD cards still cost ~50% more than other cards
-wide-angle 38mm isn't wide enough
-proprietary battery. And yes, you will need a spare battery. From personal experience I would recommend the Olympus branded 12B. Costs marginally more and holds lot longer than 'compatible' batteries.
