Pentax Optio E10 review
I bought this camera on vacation for a day-trip to a place where if it got trashed it wouldn't matter much and I didn't want to risk my "regular" gear. I chose Pentax because it always had a reliable lens, and that's to me the key. Plus for the price it had all the features you could want in a cheapie digital: AA battery operation (in the wild a near must), DC backup possible, 10mb ON BOARD memory, 6 mp (albeit tiny lens) sensor, large LCD viewer, decent zoom (w/ digital!), SD card slot, adequate
flash, pictbridge, adequate presets, etc.
The pix turned out just fine including 8x10 no crops, but . . .
We came home and within a week the camera stopped working -- lens wouldn't extend/retract, you turn it on and it would start up and then turn itself off. So we dopped it off to the nearest Pentax service center. It's been 2 months and the last contact we had was "the parts just came in."
I've heard of bad customer service, but this is ridiculous.
In my first review I said if it lasts more than a year or 2 I'd be thrilled. Now I'd be amazed.
Shutter lag - yes.
Customer Service: The Slowski turtles are faster.
