Pentax Optio A20 review
This camera has a lot of excellent features for the price and its pretty customisable. Overall image quality is good with excellent colour and lots of detail.
I didnt find AF to be too slow when set to centre point only, and the face recognition seems to work well. IS is vairable but I'd say you can expect about 1-2 stops slower shutter speed than would be recommended for a given focal length which does give you the option of shooting at lower ISO.
Noise is visible even at ISO100, though there is very little detail loss. There is also some CA and softness at the edges at wideangle but its better at longer focal lengths. Generally the noise suppression seems to favour detail over NR, but there is really too much noise at ISO400 to make this useful for anything other than a casual snap at 4X6.
Sent first one back due to broken battery retaining clip. Otherwise quality seems good.
