Pentax Optio A30 review

Used camera for 7 days, after which had to return in to the shop. In comparison with Canon IXUS 800 IS this camera makes great night-time photos even if hold at hands (thanks to optical stabilizator and high-ISO mode). It also makes satistactory (although far from perfect) photos on sunny days. But if you make photos indoor or even outdoor on cloudy day, then you have to use flash. Without flash you have very noisy and unfocused images. I tried to set ISO to maximum 200, it wouldn't help, on ISO 50&100 photos are very dark.

- Easy to use
- Scene auto detection (camera automatically determines if you shoot a portrait, landscape or else, and uses best settings for it)
- Excellent night-time photos
- Satisfactory outdoor photos on sunny days

- Indoor photos are VERY noisy and often unfocused, unless you use flash. For example, Canon IXUS 800 IS (gosh, even SonyEriccson K790 cameraphone) makes good photos in similar conditions. Because of this had to return camera to the shop.
