Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 review

I got FZ-7 July 12, 2006. This model has amazing lens (sharp image, smooth drive, excellent stabilization). Sensor in not something special, but it's good enough. You can use images for print or monitor and nothing wrong will be. Day pictures are superb and night w/o flash are ... almost bad. It's normal for this class and money camera!

Interface (hard and soft) of the camera is brilliant!

FZ-7 is enough light and ergonomic, so I can hold it in my hand, run and shoot for 2-3 hours (part of my work). I can have huge zoom and cover wide area around me. On a vacation - superb! Battery life is excellent.

Year later, after I got FZ-7, I got FZ-8. I had both for 1-2 months and I sold FZ-7 in shape like new (excellent build quality). FZ-8 is better, but not something new (except RAW format). If don't care so much on perfection and you want to save some money then get FZ-7.

Build-in USB-1 (slow!) is the worst thing in this camera.

(not a real problem) First 1-2 months, prints on the back buttons slightly gone. It's strange, because everything else is a very good quality.
