Sigma SD14 review

got it from jessops for a bargin

build is much better than canon 350d/400d and a little better than the old nikon d70

this is a no frills camera for people who know exactly what they want , no silly gimmicks.

absolutely great images are produced with this camera, tones and colours are very crisp and clear.

dont be fooled by the 'low' pixel count the images are superb and are full of detail.

iso 50 (using firmware 1.05+) is a great addition

skintones are excellent

when you use this camera you feel like a pro, not someone who has been sold a toy. the workflow is slightly slower than other camera but the quality of the final images makes up for this, stick EX glass in front and you will love it

this is BIG camera, which i like..

Problems:

dirt on sensor when i bought it

battery life is poor but apparently this is resolved with seasoning batteries

write time to CF is slow if you are used to a canon or nikon

some people will not like the size of the camera (for me there is no problem)

autofocus is not fast, but this isnt a camera for sports

you have to know what you are doing with this camera , if you want a point and shoot camera look elsewhere
