One thing that has been mentioned briefly but not in detail is the fact that the seals have to be renewed each year. I investigated deeper into this, emailing Olympus. They said first that I could get the seals from Cameras UnderWater but on contacting them, they said they didn't have them and they'd just get them from Olympus. After a lot more emails to Olympus and having to spell things out extremely clearly, I finally pinned them down to an answer:
They said "The 2 Year warranty will cover the service on your item for the first year... We would replace the seals and the necessary parts at our repair service
After the 2nd year the service would be chargeable to you... "
and after squeezing a price out of them, they said:
"The cost to service your MJU 103 after the warranty would be £ 89.43 excluded VAT. This is a standard charge therefore you will not pay more than this amount for your service."
So there you have it, about £100 a year inc VAT (though prices may change in a couple of years time) so it's a good idea to take this into account when looking at the cost of the camera and if it's worth the money.
