Canon EOS 450D (EOS Digital Rebel XSi / EOS Kiss X2) review

Amazed at the variety of comments both good and bad here. I've gone down exactly the same route as a previous reviewer (bakebein on 11 Nov 08) even to having the Fuji 9600 as my 4th Fuji and needless to say I agree with all his comments. I bought this camera for its landscape abilities which I find great, but the Fuji will always be my favourite for studio work.

I also agree that the kit lense leaves much to be desired, however the deal I got from a well known UK high street camera dealer had a Tamron zoom lense thrown in to the deal which despite being a "bargain basement" lense gives excellent results - certainly an improvement on Canon's own kit lense.

I'm still getting to grips with this camera but as with all new things the more time you give it the better results you'll get. It's growing on me day by day.

Problems:

Just a poor kit lense from Canon - if I had a bigger budget I'd upgrade, but then again, who wouldn't?

I don't have very large hands so don't have a problem with holding the grip, however I do appreciate that those with anything over medium sized hands might well experience problems. My advice would be to try it out in a dealership first before getting a better price online!
