Sigma SD14 review

PROS
- current market price (because SD15 is coming soon)
- build quality
- picture quality is amazing
- unbelievable colors
- resolution 2640*1760 is adequate for small/medium prints
- bundled software SPP is nice to use and you can get max from the picture. No need to buy 3rd party software

It is not for instant P&S photographer. This camera is not about features but about outstanding picture colors&quality. Do we need more?

Problems:

CONS
- low light
- need more tuning for indoor pictures in SPP
- very slow writing to CF. Speed issue is in hardware therefore no need to buy expensive ultra/turbo speed CF
- resolution could be a bit higher
- buffer just for around 6 pictures and then you have to wait aprox. 25 sec therefore not for sport&actions
- sometimes pictures are lost on CF
- default WB is annoying
- battery life - approx. 250 pictures
- occasional visibility of artefacts

Despite the list of CONS I am giving SD14
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED mark
