Canon EOS 450D (EOS Digital Rebel XSi / EOS Kiss X2) review

I've had this camera for a few months now and am very happy with its ability ad design. Rebels get chided for being plasticky but this one has Canon taking its design and finish up to a higher level. Yes it still is plastic encased but a nice texture wrap has been added. I found its fit and finish to be great for such a price point.

Usability is very intuitive. No, it like all Rebels does not have the proverbial adjustment wheel but Canon has located the buttons out so well and so easy to use. The 3inch display is very nice given I have been using and still use my 10d. (I don't believe in cameras going bad like spoiled milk).

The size is small and I am not a fan of tiny camera bodies but it is livable. I added a battery grip to mine and it changed the feeling and ease of handling in my normal male sized hands greatly. The grip makes this into a very nice and enjoyable to use camera. I highly reccomend getting a grip for yours.

As for image quality, simply superb. I have always liked Canon's digital quality. I shoot almost exclusivey in RAW as memory cards are so inexpensive today and I like the RAW images I get. The viewfinder quality is fine, not bad but not great. I am not a burst, frame rate blaster geek. The XSi runs 3.5 fps and that is more than usable for the few times I need it.

All in all a great value and a great camera.

Problems:

NONE.
